Yes they can wear the button, it is protected under the 1st Amendment right to free speech

The story behind the Tinker vs. Des Moines case
Students wore black armbands to school to protest the Vietnam War and were sent home. They sued the school for violating the student's freedom of expression/speech. The students won the case and it was decided that students do not lose their freedom of speech when they arrive at school.

You are driving down a highway at night going 15 miles per hour over the speed limit. You are pulled over by the police. When they come up to your window, they notice a beer bottle lying under the passenger seat. They make you step out of the car and begin searching everything without a warrant. Is this a Constitutional violation? Why or why not?
No. The officer had probable cause that you were breaking the law by seeing the beer bottle in plain sight. While the 4th Amendment prohibits unlawful search and seizure, this was an exception to a warrant requirement.
