Students wore black armbands to school to protest the Vietnam War and were sent home. They sued the school for violating the student's freedom of expression/speech. The students won the case and it was decided that students do not lose their freedom of speech when they arrive at school.

No. The officer had probable cause that you were breaking the law by seeing the beer bottle in plain sight. While the 4th Amendment prohibits unlawful search and seizure, this was an exception to a warrant requirement.
