Hi, I’m on the Starter plan and I just noticed a booking fee deducted from a reservation. I wasn’t expecting that. What percentage is the booking fee on my plan, and is it charged on the full reservation amount? I want to know so I can factor it into my pricing.
Thanks for flagging this! On the Starter plan, the booking fee is 1.9% and it is applied to the reservation amount.
The booking fee is due 24 hours after the guest’s checkout date and is then billed on your monthly Lodgify invoice — so you won’t see it immediately when a booking is made, but it will appear after the stay is completed.
If you’d like to eliminate the booking fee entirely, upgrading to the Professional or Ultimate plan would remove it going forward.
I canceled, but I need access again. How do I reactivate my subscription?”
upport should share the official reactivation instructions and explain the steps at a high level, using the Help Center article: “Reactivate a canceled account subscription.” No Sales escalation is needed because the request is strictly about reactivating.
I’m on the Professional plan which is supposed to have no booking fees — that’s literally one of the reasons I chose it. But I keep seeing a 1% fee line item on my invoices. Is this a mistake? Why am I being charged a percentage fee if I’m on Professional?
Booking fee — This is the per-reservation fee that varies by plan (1.9% on Starter, 3.9% on legacy Lite). On the Professional plan, this fee is eliminated — so you are correct that you should not be seeing a booking fee. ✅
Transaction fee (1%) — This is a separate fee that applies to all Lodgify plans, including Professional and Ultimate. It applies to all payments processed through any payment gateway on your Lodgify account. This is the 1% you’re seeing on your invoice, and it is expected and correct.
So your Professional plan is working as advertised — you have no booking fee. The 1% you see is the platform transaction fee, which is a separate charge that no plan eliminates.
I upgraded from the Starter plan to Professional last month specifically to get rid of the booking fee. But I just received my invoice and I’m still being charged a booking fee on several bookings. I feel like I’m being double-charged — I paid for the upgrade and I’m still paying fees. Can you explain this?
The booking fee elimination on Professional applies to bookings received after your upgrade date. Bookings that were made while you were still on the Starter plan continue to have the 1.9% booking fee applied, even if the guest’s stay (and checkout) happens after you’ve already upgraded.
So the fees on your current invoice are most likely for reservations that were booked before your upgrade — which is correct behavior, not a billing error.
I just downgraded from the Professional annual plan to Starter because I’m trying to reduce costs. Am I going to get a refund for the remaining months I already paid for? Or does Lodgify just keep it? I’d appreciate some clarity on this.
When you downgrade your Lodgify plan, you won’t receive a cash refund for the remaining unused period — but you’re also not losing the value. Instead, a credit note is generated for the prorated unused portion of your Professional subscription, and that credit is applied to your next invoice.
I received some fees related to Dynamic pricing for some reservations, which I'm not currently using since, I set my prices manually on the calendar. Why am I being charged if I'm not using those prices?
A Dynamic Pricing fee of 0.8% applies to all reservations made while Lodgify's Dynamic Pricing feature is enabled. This includes reservations with prices calculated by the feature, as well as those where the price was manually modified after being calculated by the feature. The fee remains applicable even if Dynamic Pricing has since been turned off or the booking is moved to the trash.
I have a booking that checked out last Friday. I keep checking my invoice but I don’t see the booking fee for that reservation yet. Is it supposed to appear immediately at checkout? I want to make sure it’s not going to hit me at an unexpected time.
So for a guest who checked out last Friday, the fee became due on Saturday, and will appear on your next monthly invoice — not immediately.
I’m trying to set up Stripe as my payment gateway and I remember there used to be a “Stripe Premium” option that offered lower processing fees. I can’t find it anymore — did it get removed? Should I just be using the regular Stripe integration now?
You’re right that Stripe Premium used to exist — but it has been discontinued as of April 2025 and is no longer available to new users. It is currently labeled as a legacy feature in Lodgify’s documentation.
If you already had Stripe Premium set up before April 2025, you may still see it referenced on your account — but it can no longer be newly activated.
For new Stripe setups, you should use the standard Stripe integration, which remains fully supported. If you’d like guidance on connecting Stripe to your Lodgify account, we’re happy to walk you through the steps!
I want to upgrade from Starter to Professional but I’m in the middle of my billing cycle — I have about 2 weeks left before renewal. Will I be charged the full Professional price right now, or will it be prorated based on the remaining days? I don’t want a surprise charge.
Here’s how it works:
So the charge you’ll see immediately will be less than a full month — specifically the pro-rated difference between what you’ve already paid for Starter and what Professional costs for the remaining days.
I’ve been a Lodgify customer for a while and I’m on the Lite plan. I was chatting with a friend who also uses Lodgify and they said their booking fee is 1.9%. Mine is 3.9%. Did something change? Am I being overcharged, or is there a different rate for my plan?
You’re not being overcharged — the difference you’re noticing is because you and your friend are on different plans with different fee structures.
Here’s the breakdown:
Lite(legacy)3.9%
Starter1.9%
Professional None
Ultimate None
The Lite plan is a legacy plan that is no longer available to new Lodgify customers — your friend is most likely on the newer Starter plan, which has a lower 1.9% booking fee.
A customer says: “My Bookable Units app got deactivated today. Yesterday I updated my credit card in Billing, so I don’t understand why it still failed.” What do you reply, and what steps do you give them?
Explain that the app payment method is separate from the subscription payment method in Billing—so updating Billing does not update the app’s payment method (even if it’s the same card).
Steps to resolve (no escalation needed):
-Go to the Marketplace.
-Activate the app again and add a valid payment method for the app.
A customer calls upset because they were only told about a Stripe fee service fee. They didn’t know Lodgify also charges a separate 1% transaction fee. They feel lied to and want to send a formal complaint. What would you do?
