What is a prox card (and PIN)?
This sign is posted in each lab and contains important information, including the names and phone numbers of the RO, the PIs, the Attending Vet, Lab managers, Fire, Police, etc.
What is the emergency contact sign/list?
When using a centrifuge, this item is most reliable at containing any potential aerosols.
What is an aerosol tight rotor or safety cup?
To wear an N95 respirator you must do this before you first start wearing a respirator in the work environment, whenever a different respirator model is used, and at least annually thereafter.
What is a fit test?
These must be placed on an autoclaved waste bag prior to being placed in municipal waste.
What are "Treated" stickers?
A select agent sample that is listed on the inventory record, but is missing from the storage box/container is an example of this.
What is a security breach (theft or loss)?
This kit is found in each lab and contains disinfectants, absorbent towels, tyvek suits, and biohazard bags.
What is the emergency spill kit?
These items verify autoclave performance and should be run with every cycle.
What are biological indicators and chemical indicators?
This annual training is required for persons who handle human or non-human primate blood, body fluids, cells, cell-lines or tissues.
What is Bloodborne Pathogen training?
Expired chemicals and disinfectants must be tagged (and the exterior surface disinfected) in order for this department to be able to schedule their pickup and disposal.
What is the Environmental Health and Safety Department or EHS?
The specifics of the Security Plan were determined based on the performance of this assessment.
What is a site-specific security assessment?

What is a leak-proof, secondary container?
This document must be used to keep a daily count of the number of animals and cages added or removed from an experiment.
What is the BSAT Animal Inventory Count (Animal Census Log)?
These must be conducted at least annually to test the effectiveness of the entity's Biosafety, Incident Response and Security Plans.
