True or False the Nucleus is the powerhouse of the cell?
False, mitochondria

What are the cause of cancer?
- Genetics - smoking - hygiene

Identify 3 differences between an animal cell and plant cell
Animal cells contain lysosomes. Whereas a plant cell would contain a cell wall and chlorplasts

How ware the respiratory system and circulatory system related?
Both circulate blood and the blood is carried to the lungs. The lungs circulate the rest of the blood throughout the body. Both system work together to make sure the body is getting the right amount of blood in each part.

DNA is structured into structures called ______ which are found in a cells _________.
chromosomes, nucleus
200
What do centrioles do
Centrioles line up the chromosomes inside the cell and then they pull the chromosomes apart during mitosis.
200
What is the role of genes in a cell?
Genes contain instructions for making specific proteins.

What is cell specialization and explain what types of cells there are?
Cell specialization refers to that different cells have different structures and abilities to perform their functions and efficently. -Stem -Muscle -Bone

Why is the human heart separated into left and right sides?
Because oxygen rich blood would mix with carbon dioxide blood which would make your heart murmer which you could get a heart attack from and possibly kill you.

Explain the stages of Mitosis?
Prophase: The genetic material in the nucleus condenses and the duplicated chromosomes become visible. Metaphase: The duplicated chromosomes become aligned in the center of the cell, spindle fibers attach themselves to the centromere of the chromosomes. Anaphase: The stage of mitosis in which the duplicated sets of chromosomes separate and two identical groups move to opposite poles of the cell. Telophase: A nuclear membrane re-forms around each new group of chromosomes.

Are there living things without cells?
Viruses are considered the only living beings that do not have cells
300
What is the scientifc name for DNA?
Deoxyribonucleic acid

Define and list the 3 types of stem cells
Totipotent- become any cell Pluripotent- become some cells Adult- become specific cells

What is the circulatory system and give 5 examples of functions within this system?
- circulates blood, nutrient, gases and wastes. - help control temperature I.e: heart, veins, arteries, oxygen, blood
400
Why does mitosis occur?
Mitosis occurs in order organisms to grow. For instance, a human being starts out as one cell but then grows to many through the process of mitosis.

How does caffeine affect plant growth?
Minerals like potassium are often found alongside caffeine when it occurs in plant sources like coffee beans, that could help the plant grow faster
