I developed a process for removing plasma (blood without cells) from blood. Plasma can be stored much longer than whole blood. I was credited with heading two blood banks – The American Red Cross and Blood for Britain. Blood for Britain provided blood for soldiers injured in World War II.

Graduated Brooklyn College, and earned a Masters degree in education from Columbia University.
