What are the current eligibility guidelines for apartments/condos and ROs where the building(s) are over 30 years old? What documentation must be submitted and is acceptable? Are there any exceptions? Does this apply to all buildings?

**Bonus- will the age of the building be updated with documentations required for over 30 years old?

All utilities- heating, plumbing, electrical must be replaced and roof is in good condition. Only acceptable documentation is itemized receipts/invoices. If they cannot produce, not eligible.  No exceptions.  Does not apply to aux structures for all and private residences for RO.

What is CUI? What information is used in the decision model? Are there exceptions? If so, what is the process and information needed for exceptions?  

Customer Underwriting Index- UW decision model used to determine eligibility on new business.  Model uses public info and/or commercial credit. Includes liens, judgements, bankruptcy. Personal credit is not a factor. 

Can submit CUI exception form if risk meets majority of criteria. (significant P&C tenure, other CMP in good standing, exceptional payment/claim history). Need information such as active/inactive policy numbers, claim info, payment history info, other businesses owned, personal name of customer if Inc/LLC

5 is the limit on the Policy Info screen.  If more, instruct the agent to list the remaining officers/owners as a policy note.  Only their name needs listed.

What is BER? When is it calculated? What resources did you use to find your answer?

Business Experience Rating (BER) is an experience rating plan that will replace Claim History Rating (CHR) and the Claim Experience Rating Plan (CERP).

BER is only calculated (or recalculated) to be effective on the New Submission and Renewal effective dates. When the effective date of a transaction is not equal to the effective date of the term, the prior BER calculation is utilized.

An agent needs help with a CLUP quote for current SF contractor policy with $1mil liability limits. The quote tool will not allow you or the agent to calculate the $500,000 Section II premium.  What do you do?  What resource did you use?

Determine if the eff date/exp date match on the name screen.  If so, Review contractor stat screen for additional liability/AI lines. Next, advise the agent you need to get info from Service. Then call audit Service and ask for an annual quote back to the flat effective date for $500k liability plus all other Section II premiums. Wait for case to be reassigned to you from Service with premiums.  Call the agent and continue with CLUP quote. If policy terms do not match, send case to RG Service Audity/Non-audit.

Can a name/entity change be made and if so, what type?  

Yes.  Only if change in ownership with at least 50% of common ownership remaining after the change. Trustee can also be changed as long as the trust stays the same.

What is the formula to calculate the wind/hail deductible dollar amount?  What is the requirement of this dollar amount? 

**Bonus- when can the w/h deductible be changed?

Coverage A-aux structures X w/h ded %.  That dollar amount must be more than all peril wind hail deductible. 

It cannot be changed mid-term.  Only if all peril is changed which requires the w/h ded to change.

Agent calls stating he has a client who is an employee for a local electrician that does both residential and commercial work.  The business owner requires the employees to use their own tools.  The agent is asking if we can cover the tools for his customer.  Is this eligible?  If so, what program/product?  Any additional questions?

Agt calls regarding an existing BOP policy in California that is classed as restaurant-incidental alcohol sales.  The mortgage company wants the policy endorsed showing liquor liability.  How is that done?  What resource did you use for your answer?

Can a new CLUP be written in Louisiana for a client that has 20 RDPs in LA insured with SF and 5 RDPs in Mississippi insured with SF? What resource can you find the information?

**Bonus- what if the insured has 6 RDPs in Mississippi, 5 with SF and 1 with another carrier?

Yes.  Per the PL job aid, LA has no restriction and MS has restriction of 5, all are already insured with SF. 

**No, a new CLUP cannot be written because MS has a restriction of 5 RDPs and the NI has 6.  All risks are not eligible to be written with SF.  Is there a way around this for the NI?

Policy must be flat cancelled back to effective date and rewrite full term transaction completed on the cancelled policy

If an agent calls regarding an existing CLUP that was written in Florida and covers a BOP w/SF in GA, 1 RDP in FL w/SF, 6 RDPs in GA w/SF and 1 RDP in LA w/SF and advises the insured purchased 3 RDPs in AL that the insured wants covered by the CLUP, what is your answer? What, if anything, will happen to the existing CLUP?  What resources did you use? 

Alabama has a household limit of 5 RDPs.  The insured has a total of 8 already insured, 11 total with the new 3.  We will not be able to cover the 3 new RDPs under the CLUP.  A CU 2316 needs added for the existing UL policies.

Individual Risk Premium Modification. All CMP policies except CLUP.  All states except AK, CA, HI, ID, OR, WA.  Applies at a certain premium threshold. Can be credit or debit.  Characteristics are management, location, building features, premises/equipment, employees, protection, classification.  Risk needs to have unique or superior characteristics that can be documented.  PT with docs need submitted for review.
