The purpose of video is to setup, breakdown and maintain the comm cart, as well as filming demonstrations for pilot's safety and critique.
What is the purpose of air frames?
The purpose of airframes is to maintain landing, arresting and catapult gear, flight controls, hydraulic systems and composite/sheet metal structural repair of the F/A-18 Hornet.
What is the purpose of the paint shop?
The purpose of Paint Shop is to maintain the paint scheme of squadron aircraft and stickers.
What is the purpose and function of life support?
The purpose of life support is to maintain and repair the systems that support the life of the pilot during normal and emergency situations.

Demonstrate and/or explain communications cart personnel responsibilities and location
The video shop is comprised of maintenance technique in various aviation ratings. They are responsible for filming each demonstration for use by the pilot during debriefs. They also maintain the comm. cart, which allows support officers to communicate with the pilots during flight, the video shop records, edits & produces promotional commercials & video for the squad. 1 person films demo, 1 maintains comm cart. Suppo keeps comm tower. Doc critiques demo, backup hotseat in charge of maint. comm line between RWT, comm cart & hot seat. MO in charge of comm cart.
Explain the procedures for handling hot brakes/tire/wheel safety
Approach tire from forward aft only! MLG tires have hose plugs to prevent explosion by rapidly releasing air, NLG tires do not have hot brakes. Use back of hand to feel brake, if declared hot park in hot brake area away from personnel, allow air to cool, if they do not cool, call fire dept.
Explain the usage, location, and content of the emergency reclamation kit and fuel spill kit
In the hangar by the hazmat lockers
Explain and demonstrate a proper seat pre-op prior to entering a cockpit (seat check out)
Check EUI dolls eye to ensure that it is black, make sure canopy ejection safety pin is installed, ensure ejection seat safety pin is installed and safe arm handle reads safe.
Hotels and Bills
Make sure you have zero balance, service is out of pocket, 21 days prior to7 departure fill out form, turn into events. Family can get room for same rate, you are responsible for them and that room. Confirmation will go directly to them and must be paid within 5 days.

Paint shop supplies and mixes paint. The blue paint is used where blue paint is required. The yellow paint is used where yellow paint is required.

Demonstrate the ability to perform hydraulic servicing/bleeding
APU-71; use mil-prf-13212, alternate fluid is mil-n-5606; perform air bleed until solid stream of fluid continues always wear proper PPE
Explain how names and numbers are applied and removed.
Numbers are centered on the 6th rivet on the vertical slab in line with the vent. Line up names with first and last capital letter of name to the top of the lex and place guide on canopy sill. Remove guideline once name is complete.
Explain the F/A-18's fire extinguishing systems.
There are two fire extinguishing systems in the F/A 18. DBFSS (Dry Bay Fire Suppression System) and one fire bottle. The fire bottle is installed in door BBB and is a single vie bottle on a three loop system that leads to both engine/amad bays and the afu. DBFSS is located in the belly of the jet and is a self-functioning system used to put out fires caused by ballistic damage. Blue angel jets do not have dBFSS installed.

7 Geek will put out time and info, smallest to largest vehicles, family-a blue angel has to drive, 7 geek leads, frontman back.

Official- same setup, usually police escort, use hand signals
Demonstrate the ability to perform morning turns and walk around for airframes work center.
If landing gear pin is stuck, get airframes, underneath all flight controls are considered a danger area with hydraulic power. never stand under tailhook.
Explain hazardous waste (proper procedures for disposal and handling on road and at home)
7 Geek sets up hazmat disposal on the road. He will let you know where it is located.
Explain the purpose and function of OBOGS
OBOGS (on-board oxygen generating systems): takes air from the ECS system and runs it through the OBOGS concentrator that cleans the air to provide the pilot with clean breathable oxygen.
