If you order take-out food when can food not be ordered? (2)

Food cannot be ordered Mon-Th. 

Fri-Sat Before 12:00pm or after 9:00pm

Sunday after 5:00pm.

Food needs to be delivered before these times. 

NOTE: Any take out food not finished by Sunday at Curfew will be thrown out. (not snacks)

Can students have small appliances in their rooms?

No, nothing... no automatic kettles, no automatic rice cookers. Please use appliances in Kitchen

Can day students join boarding activities?

YES- for most activities day students can join us. Ask Ms. Schubert first.

What are the common room clean-up responsibilities? (5)

Wipe counters, cabinets, refrigerator, inside and outside of microwaves, tables.

Load the dishwasher and start it.

Sweep the floor and mop if needed.

Gather recyclables and put in appropriate boxes.

Empty/clean out garbage, recycling and compost.

What needs to be done when you put personal food in the fridge? For example, Tutou goes to the store and buys meat. What does Tutou need to do with his steak before he puts it in the fridge?

If students have food in the house, students need to label and store properly (i.e ice cream in freezer with name and date). 

If there is a name on food, please do not help yourself.

What are you allowed to put into SUMMER student storage? 

4 large totes/boxes. 

during the year 1 tote, with seasonal items or outdoor gear.

Where are students asked to keep their passports, study permits, extra money and high valuable items?

If you want to leave for the weekend must be done? (6)

- Host must be approved by boarding manager and be in REACH

-REACH Weekend Leave request must be done by 8:30am on Wednesdays

- make sure you are not leaving on a closed weekend. 

-make sure you are not staying in a hotel, air bnb, etc. 

-Weekend room cleanup must be done before curfew the night before leave begins.

- Sign off with House parent before you leave!

What are the weekend room cleaning expectations? (10)

-Make Beds

What do you need to consider when decorating your rooms? (4)

- if students wish to rearrange their room, roomates need to be in agreeance. 

-do not use any items/methods of decoration that leaves permanent marks (nails, paint etc.)

-if you want to hang things use your bulletin boards

-make sure your room is always safe!

What are non-SMS visiting hours? (people that are not apart of the SMS Community) (4)

How and where do you sign out bikes?

Sign out in Fenwick Office, grab key & Helmet. Bikes located outside lounge and more bikes located in storage. Make sure you've done your bike test!

When are quiet times? and what does it mean when it is quiet time?

All Grades In Room/ Quiet Time is 11:00pm


Quiet time means time to get ready for bed, not friends visiting. If your friend already has in room curfew and you do not it is not a time to go visit them.

If you cook in the kitchen what steps need to be taken (before cooking, during cooking and after cooking).

1. Ask House Parent if you can cook

2. House Parent is around, try not to burn anything, ask for help if unsure how to cook things.

3. Clean up all dishes/cutlery/pots & pans. Leave the kitchen better than you found it. 

4. Tell house parent you are done. 

DO NOT LEAVE A MESS FOR THE NEXT PERSON

sleepovers?

Sleepovers are a privilege, and therefore, require permission in advance from house parents.

• Students may not host or attend a sleepover if they are not meeting the expectations of the house.

• Students may host sleepovers in the 2nd floor common Room 209 (max 5) or in their own room (only 1 overnight guest at a time)

• Sleepover requests must be made by 10:00pm and Students are required to be in the designated house by 10:30pm.

• Students must return to their own room by 11:00am the next morning.

• Students are responsible for cleaning up and disinfecting all surfaces in room 209 including the washroom and checked by a house parent before 11:00am.

• Students will not be granted sleepover privileges if they have missed school due to illness or per instructions from the school nurse.

• If a student is unable to follow expectations, they will be sent back to her room and sleepover privileges will be cancelled for the remainder of the weekend.

• Students can host one sleepover per weekend

- create a leave request (make sure to follow all off property permissions (transportation and groups)
