Her condition went unnoticed for a long time by her loved ones and her situation worsened until she was very sick and she abused herself mentally. Her parents could not help her because she required qualified people to treat her phsycologically and physically. People were needed to build her self-esteem and body image (which couldn't be done by her parents because she felt very strongly about her unworthiness). Professionals needed to help build her a food plan and she needed a constant help from someone who could make her feel important again.
