A 28 day cycle where the endocrine system controls the uterus.  During the cycle 3 things happen: 

1. egg grows and matures

2. mature eggs are released from the ovaries and the lining of the uterus thickens.

3.  If fertilization does not occur, the lining breaks down and leaves the body taking the egg.
