What is EPIPHYSIS - Enlarged terminal parts of the bone, made of spongy tissue and articulate with neighboring bones.
METAPHYSIS - Part of the bone between the epiphysis and the diaphysis; it contains the connecting cartilage enabling the bone to grow, and disappears at adulthood.
DIAPHYSIS - Elongated hollow central portion of the bone; it is made of compact tissue and encloses the medullary cavity.
