In Lehi's dream he saw numberless concourses of people journeying along a path holding on to this object as they pressed forward through the mist of darkness.

Nephi beholds a woman in the city of Nazareth.
Who is the virgin Mary?
These sons of Lehi were born during their journeys in the wilderness before reaching the promised land.
Who are Jacob and Joseph?
Lehi's family, along with Zoram and Ishmael and his family, journeyed in the wilderness for eight years before reaching the seashore which they named after the abundance of fruit snd wild honey in the area.
What is Bountiful?
Lehi feared for them that they would be cast off from the presence of the Lord and he "did exhort them then with all the feeling of a tender parent, that they would hearken to his words, that perhaps the Lord would be merciful to them, and not cast them off."
Who are Laman and Lemuel?
Nephi beheld this prophet, "who shall prepare the way for the Redeemer of the world.
Who is John the Baptist?
Nephi and his older brothers married the daughters of this man.
Who is Ishmael?
Round in shape and made of fine brass, containing two spindles which pointed the way where they should travel in the wilderness.

"And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit."

A group consisting of Nephi, and also Zoram and his family, Sam, Jacob and Joseph, his sisters, and all those who believed in the warnings and the revelations of God and hearkened unto Nephi's words.
Who are the people of Nephi?
Here they found "beasts in the forests of every kind...which were for the use of men...and all manner of ore, both of gold, and of silver, and of copper."
What is the promised land?
These individuals appeared in Lehi's vision and gave him a reason to rejoice in the Lord.
Who are Nephi and Sam?
These were righteous individuals whose garments were made white because of their faith in the Lamb of God.
