What are the four ministry areas of CPKids?

The purpose of these is to ensure the safety of our children and integrity of our ministry.
What are a CPKids application and background check?

Never be alone with a child.
What is a basic safety guideline?

Children should be accompanied by two adults, one being a woman, and should not be assisted inside the area unless another adult is present.
What is the bathroom policy?

Ensure the child is dry before pieced up by parents and that all their belongings are together on the counter. Take off and collect name tags and put them together in the appropriate container. Children should only be released to the parents or to the person who has the pager.
What is the Nursery Pick Up Procedure?

What are the four main volunteer expectations?

A signed parent permission slip.
What is a requirement of a youth and student volunteer?

Count your children in your group, and take your roll sheet with you. Recount when you arrive safely outside. Stay with your children at all times, and do not release children to parents until you have been given instructions to do so by a director or staff member.
What is the classroom evacuation policy?

Children should be changed and dry before the parents arrival.
What is the first rule of the diaper policy?

Clear tables and counters of clutter, prepare activities or games for following service, straighten furniture and take out trash if needed.
What is the housekeeping policy?

This team is the first face of CPKids that families see. They assist with greeting and checking in families, as well as guiding guests to the proper location.

This person is a classroom leader that consistently teaches and guides children in games, activities, crafts and discussions.
What is a small group leader?

Do not leave the child alone, send a fellow volunteer for assistance from a staff member. Call 911 if necessary.
What is the protocol for treating a serious emergency?

Due to high amounts of allergies, CPKids leaders are only allowed to distribute the provided age appropriate snack for children. Outside food and drink is prohibited.
What is the snack policy?

What are the types of child abuse?

This is an opportunity to "try out" a role in CPKids.
What is a CPKids First Look?

First ask to switch your schedule, then ask for a sub from the director.
What is the absence policy for Nursery, Preschool or Elementary school volunteers?

This should be filled out and signed by the volunteer and parent when there is an injury requiring attention in class (i.e. scrapped knee or small cut).
What is an ouch report?

Ensure that guests are checked-in. Greet families at the door. Mark attendance and any concerns from parents, ensure the child is in the correct room, and that the parent has the pick up tag.
What is the preschool drop off protocol?

Report directly to a member of CrossPoint Kids Ministry Staff, do not interview a child, do not discuss. You may have to fill out a form and return it to the CPKids Ministry Director.
What are the steps to reporting suspected child abuse?

Children must be sent home if they present any of the following symptoms: Fever of 100 degrees and above, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rashes, head lice, a green runny nose, or non stop coughing or sneezing.

In place of a tag you may use photo identification. Always check the name on the child's tag and ensure it matches the parents. Even if you know the parent you must do this.
What is the lost tag procedure?
