Rocko was so smart that he opened the cage and ran away to Eldorado Park, where they were opening a brand new Boys & Girls Club. He was curious about the new building and wanted to see it, so he decided to go inside. Rocko walked into the gym where he met Hartley and Ruth Barker. Ruth said to Hartly, "We need a mascot for our new Club and this dog is super cute!" Hartley agreed and together they announced that from this day forward the Bulldog would be the Barker Branch mascot.
