Calvin bought shirts for him and his seven friends. The shirts cost $102 total. What was the cost of each shirt?

There are eight kids in total, so each shirt cost more than $10 because $10 x 8 = $80. Another $2 each would add another $16 for $96. That means the last $6 gets divided by eight, so if I think of $6 as 24 quarters, then each person would have 3 quarters. So each shirt cost $12 + $0.75 for a total of $12.75 per shirt.
