Please explain the policy for releasing children. What is the BP policy?


- At no time are children permitted to exit the Center unaccompanied.  Children will be released only to the identified parent(s) or guardian(s), or to the individuals who have writtenauthorization from parent(s) or guardian(s) to pick up the child.  •  An acceptable form of government issued identification, including photo and full name must be cross-referenced and matched to the child's enrollment form if the person arriving to pick upthe child is unfamiliar. (driver`s license, passport, or picture health card) 
- Educators are required to ensure children only leave the Center with a nominated person authorized by the child’s parents/guardians and must check the ID of anyone unfamiliar before releasing.
- Children cannot be released to anyone (other than a parent/guardian) under the age of sixteen(16) including siblings. If a parent/guardian wishes Busy Bees North America to release theirchild to anyone over the age of sixteen (16) but under the age of eighteen (18), writtenpermission will be required.
If the person is not on the child’s enrollment form, there must be a note or message from the parent before the child is released. If no message was received, we must contact the parent byphone for approval to release the child.  - - If no one can be reached, DO NOT LET THE CHILD GO WITH THE PERSON

Tell me about handling accident/incident reports? 

IncidentsAccidents:  When a child is hurt Incident:  Anything (which is not an accident) that could have an adverse effect on a Child 


1.  All accidents/incidents requiring First Aid shall be reported to the Centre Director and to the child’s parents immediately.
 2.  All accidents involving injury to a child’s head or face must be reported to the Centre Director and child’s parents immediately. 
3.  An accident/incident report form shall be maintained recording the nature of the accident/incident and the correct action taken.
4.  Staff must record the date and time when the accident/incident took place and when the Centre Director and parent were notified.
5.  Staff that witnessed the accident/incident must sign the form.
6.  The accident/incident report form must be signed by the parent and maintained at the centre (a copy can be made for the parent if they request to have a copy).
7.  If an accident is serious enough to require immediate medical care one staff member must always remain with the child and apply First Aid while a secondary staff member calls 911, must be reported to the Centre Director or Assistant Director and child’s parents immediately. 
8.  If the child needs to go to the hospital they should be accompanied by the Centre Director or Assistant Director.
