Where are the residence dining halls located?
DeCew and Lowenberger (We don’t talk about the one that was supposedly coming to Res 8..... lol)
How many styles of residence do we have? What are they?
Three different Styles
1. Traditional
2. Semi - Suite
3. Townhouse
Are students allowed to have guests over in residence? Are they allowed to spend the night? What protocols are in place for this? Are they ever not allowed to?
During the day, students can have guests come and go.
Students are allowed to have guests spend the night, but need to fill out the overnight guest form on the Brock Housing Services Website
The only times students aren't allowed is during exam season and during the first few weeks of school or if they've exceeded the amount of overnight guest forms for that period of time
Who should students contact if they ever have an issue with something in their room?
You should first contact the service desk, they will help you contact whoever is needed for the issue at hand.
How long is a residence contract?
8 Months
What currency is used to pay for the laundry services at Brock?
How do students make the payments?
Flex dollars are used for the laundry services at Brock
Payments are made via your phone on the Laundry Cat app
How are residence assignments given out?
The main thing that will be looked at is the high school grade average; the higher the average, the more likely you will be to get the style and type you want.
Under certain special circumstances, this may change
Izzy REALLY LOVES Toast! Can she bring a toaster to her dorm?
If you are in a traditonal or semi-suite style residence, appliances such as toasters are strictly prohibited. If you are in a townhouse style residence, you are allowed to bring appliances like toasters, toaster ovens, air fryers, etc.
Where are the service desks located and when are they open
The locations are Lowenberger, Decew and Res 8
and they are open 24/7
When are room assignments supposed to come out?
Mid to late July
What are the rules about having mini fridges in residence?
Who does Brock have a partnership with for mini fridge rentals
Mini Fridges are allowed, but are NOT allowed to have a separate freezer component on the fridge.
Brock has a partnership with COLDEX, who will deliver the fridge to your room for move in, and collect it for you after you move out

Can I have pets in residence?
“any non-air-breathing pets are allowed” - so a fish is fine
Exceptions are available if they are support animals
How do students gain access to their residence buildings and rooms?
How does Brock make sure other people can't access your room?
Students will be able to access their residences by using their Brock card (or physical key for certain residence options)
Each individual student's Brock card is programed to give them access to their building, with each student's card having permissions to only their floor and room.
When is Brock's move in weekend? (Give the specific dates)
August 30th - September 1st
Which residences have on site laundry? Which don’t? Bonus points for naming where they are in each residence
Both the Traditional style and Semi-Suite style has on-site laundry. Village has to go to Lowenberger to do their laundry, and QV has designated spots for their laundry but is not technically on-site
What is the % of residence rooms that are single rooms?
Which Residences have the double room option?
71% of rooms are single rooms with the remaining 29% being doubles
Double rooms can be found in Lowenberger, Village, and DeCew!
Are all residences accessible? If not which ones?
No, not all Brock residences are accessible.
DeCew is an older residence and is not fully accessible, and most of our townhouse-style residences are not accessible; only some are updated to be.
A student is very unhappy about their residence assignment and wants to switch their building (An early August Smart Start Day) are they allowed to? When? How do they go about doing this?
Yes they can, but only once they have actually moved in, unless for special circumstances then they can before.
They can do it via my.brocku.ca under apply for residence there is a room switch request form
When is the Residence Guarantee Application deadline?
June 2nd 2025
How many infraction levels are there in residence, and how many points are associated with each?
How many points does a student have to get before receiving an suspension/expulsion from residence
There are 3 different infraction levels
1. Minor - Light Disruption (1-2 points)
2. Moderate - Significant disruption (2-3 points)
3. Severe - Endangers self or others (3-4 points)
If a student received 6+ points they will face a residence suspension or expulsion

What is the difference between a Lifestyle Community in residence and a Living Learning Community (Must include both types)?

Why might people encounter tech issues with their residence application?
Pop-ups and cookies are not enabled
When are the 3 Residence instalment payments due? (Doesn't need to be dead on but within a few days of / generally accurate)
