One of the students in class started a webpage about another student. The webpage contains cruel words, mean images, & harsh lies about this student. Someone forwards you the webpage and says "Check out how funny this is! You should share it with all your friends! So funny!"
You think "Well if I just share it at least I didn't post anything mean on it. Plus no one will even know it was me who shared it."
Is this true or false. Did you encourage or discourage the bullying behavior?
False- the next person you share it with might choose to do the RIGHT thing and report the bullying to a trusted adult. They will tell them who shared this information with them.
Encourage- even though you did not post anything, you shared the post. You joined in the bullying. You are doing the same thing the individual who started the page is doing... BULLYING!
