Who is Dr. Sam Cassell who in 2001, after retiring from his career as a physician, went on to create an organization dedicated to impacting those closest to him in Bergen County who did not have access to medical care.
The routine a BVMI new members undergoes on their first visit to clinic
First, they undergo a complete lab workup, and then see a doctor or nurse practitioner. That first appointment – which lasts an hour – is crucial for establishing trust with the patient. Their provider spends time getting to know them as a person first, then conducts a complete physical exam. They then prescribe medication or refer the patient out for testing or to see a specialist.
