Function of the Grievance Committee

. Scope of the Grievance Committee: 1. When violations of this Risk Management Policy arise at Official Epsilon Mu Chapter Events, they may be taken to the Grievance Committee. 2. Hazing violations, regardless of where they occur, may be brought before the Grievance Committee. 3. No other Risk Management violations may be brought before the Grievance Committee. 4. Only violations of the Risk Management Policy will go to this Committee.

Two requirements for being an active brother

a. Pay dues as prescribed in the Treasurer’s program. b. Attend all events deemed "mandatory" in the Recording Secretary's Program. c. Regularly attend brotherhood business meetings in accordance with the chapter secretary’s program. d. Serve on a standing committee or chair a service project. i. Membership on a committee requires a declaration of intent to attend the committee to the committee chair. ii. Membership on a committee is contingent upon confirmation by the committee chair of that member’s participation. e. Perform at least 20 hours of service total, of which two hours of service are in each of the four areas of service. f. Attend at least two (2) Chapter fellowship events.

Procedures for removal of an offier

At any regularly scheduled Brotherhood meeting with quorum present a motion to remove an officer that is approved by a vote will result in removal of that officer from their office. The election of a different Brother to that position will be held in the same procedure described in Resignation of Officers.

Officer Programs time of submission and function

The Treasurer and Pledgemaster are required to present a comprehensive written description of the program that he or she wishes to conduct to be approved by the Brotherhood at the first official Brotherhood meeting of the semester It is up to the President to ensure that executive officers are fulfilling their executive duties. The budget and Pledge program can be amended at regularly scheduled Brotherhood meetings with quorum present and a majority vote in accordance with the standing rules.

Bartender policy (3 points)

B. Bartender Policy 1. There must be at least one bartender present at all times. 2. Bartenders must remain sober until after his/her bartending shift is complete. 3. Bartenders are the only people allowed to dispense alcohol.

Definition of hazing

Any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises or during fraternityfunctions, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: use of alcoholic beverages; paddling in any form; branding; creation of excessive fatigue, physical or psychological shocks; quests; treasure hunts; scavenger hunts, road trips; or anyother such activities carried on in the name of the fraternity; wearing of public apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and buffoonery; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; and any other activities which are not consistent with fraternal law, ritual or policy or the regulations andpolicies of the educational institution and local, state and federal laws.
