apply.wisconsin.edu Yes, but we prefer online as it's much more accurate (we don't have retype bad writing). It's on the same website for download.

If someone wants to schedule an appointment for the same day, what should you do?
Do NOT schedule it on someone's calendar. Tell them no same day appointments; offer to schedule another day or they can meet on a walk-in basis which is first-come, first served. Especially important to tell coaches.

If a person applies for spring 2016, do they have to reapply again for fall of 2016?
Yes. Fall and spring are reported separately to the state. Fall/summer can be swapped and spring/winter can be, but fall/spring cannot.

1) Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, 8AM-4:30PM, Thursday 8AM-6PM. Can schedule appointments starting at 8:30 and last one at 4:00 (except Thursday- latest start time 5:30). 2) Everyday 8:00AM-4:30PM- NO appointments after 4:00.

Rita Minger- student can fill out an ADVANCED APPROVAL form and turn it into her. Can search for advanced approval and form is first result.

If a person applies for fall 2016 and is denied, do they have to pay the fee to reapply the next semester? Wha t about fall 2017?
No. It is good 1 year (or the next 3 terms). If they applied for fall 2017, yes.

What if a walk-in comes in and the COD is unavailable?
Let the person know the walk-in counselor is busy at the moment but that you are looking into it. Give it a few minutes and then proceed to ask around the office if anyone is available. Ultimately it's the COD's responsibility but someone else can help.

A student calls and wants to set up an appointment with a counselor. You set up the appointment as normal but they say that they are already admitted. What do you say?
Have you looked at your checklist? Admitted students actually register for orientation to get signed up for classes. Admissions Counselors do not help you register. Do you still want the appointment?

When is a formal evaluation of credits done?
When a student completes their application. Can do an informal one before that but official isn't done until then.

A student comes to you and asks what they are missing. You verify their identity and look up the checklist and see APPLTR (appeal process) is initiated. You tell a student that is what they need. What did you do WRONG?
You failed to check the decision first and refer to a COD. The student was DENIED- no items are missing, but they have the option to appeal. COD will walk them through that process.

If I get a call for someone wanting an appointment after hours (say 5:00PM), what should I do?
Explain office hours and availability and see if any different times work for the person. We close at 4:30PM and cannot stay for security purposes. Also explain late hours on Thursday. But we do close at exactly closing times- this is for SECURITY REASONS.

A group of students and families are here waiting quietly for a tour. What do you do?
Engage them! Be polite, small talk, ask where they are coming from, etc. Also make sure they have parking permit.

I went to a massage academy and none of my classes are transferable. Do I still need to send in my transcript?
YES! ALL transcripts are needed whether a student thinks courses will be transferrable or not.
