What are some Do Nots when it comes to dress code?
No open toes shoes and heel must be covered, no spaghetti straps/tank tops, no Short (hoochie) shorts, no belly showing
How many lessons should be in an NET set and when do you change it?
3-5 lessons per set
changing once targets reach 5 trials each or after 30 minutes or for every activity.
Does everyone have DTT lessons in their program?
no
What does NET stand for?
Natural Environment Training
Do all clients have BIPs in their program?
no
SCENARIO: You start attending home sessions where the client and family grow very fond of you. You conduct therapy in the home and on community outings to restaurants often. Caregivers begin to offer you free meals during session and before leaving. They even once offered to take you home when your ride fell through. One day as session is ending, Caregiver gets terrible news that their babysitter fell through and ask if you can babysit since you know their child so well and pay $42 an hour. When you deny, they recall the times they gave you free meals so you help. WHAT IS THIS CALLED?
DUAL RELATIONSHIPS
What should we do if another client is having a behavior?
transition your client to a new room, give the other clients privacy
What does DTT stand for and what's the difference between NET ?
Discrete Trial Training
DTT is table based lessons where cx answers 10 questions and gets reinforcement of their choice whereas NET is learner based lessons practiced anywhere and should be receiving Natural reinforcement rather than a random reinforcer
What are the two types of NET?
NET-ACTIVITY and NET-EXEMPLAR
What is ABC data and when do you take this data?
Antecedent
Behavior
Consequences
when tracking a behavior in the BIPS or when you have observed a NEW behavior not seen before
How many hours before session should you call/text to cancel if you're sick and to whom?
2 hours before session and call/text Anthony or Victoria
Give an example of no assent and client assent
no assent is when a client pulls away from us, is manding no or to stop, engaging in behaviors
client assent is when the client is willing and open to learning and being prompted with lessons. They're smiling and look for us.
List the TRIAL TYPES and what they mean.
Mass Trial (MT): Lesson was introduced and cx is asked the same question 10 times until ready for RR
Random Rotation (RR): Lesson has passed EL and EC in MT and is now being rotated between known targets in order to reach mastery criteria
Expanded Trials (ET)
In order to utilize naturally occurring learning opportunities effectively, What is required?
Capturing, Contriving and Combining lessons.
SCENARIO: You are engaging in social play with peers and your client while targeting sharing and turn taking. Your client's program has a BIP for (only) Tantrum which states: operational definition; When Timmy cries (WITH OR WTHOUT TEARS), screams, yells, runs away from initial location. Function; tangible, escape. Onset; 15 seconds of engagement of operational definition. Offset; 1 minute of no inappropriate behavior engagement.
While playing cars with your client, you place SD "my turn" while prompting your cx to share. Cx followed through and passed the cars to the BT. A peer joins in parallel play without touching your client's cars but playing next to cx. Cx stands up and engages in screaming and yelling while point at CX for 45 seconds. CX reaches Offset and is asked to clean up his cars and transition to clinic room. Cx walked over to peer from parallel play earlier and throws a car at his head. You transition to clinic room and cx engages in 2 minutes of crying with tears until meeting offset.
WHAT DID YOU TRACK AND WHATS YOUR ABC DATA
Tracked two Tantrums and created data
A: Peer sits near cx for parallel play
B: cx engages in TT by screaming and yelling while pointing at peer
C: ignored and redirected to his cars
A: Transitions to room
B: cx engaged in crying with tears for 2 minutes
C: waited and cx redirected
created data for Aggression/throwing
A: sd "lets clean up"
B: throws car at peer from peer play
C: attempted block and redirected to clinic room
List the Corrective Actions list.
Verbal Warnings, Written warning, Final Written and then Termination
What should you first do (first 5-10 minutes) when running a fill in session?
Read BIPs, General Sup Notes, Correspondence Notes,
What should you do before getting ready to run DTT?
Find a motivator/ preference assessment
Clear the area from distractors
read lesson note and prepare trial type
Set up correct stimuli, prompts and tokens
Have FCT ready in case precursors
In order to implement NET effectively, what complex set of BT qualities are needed?
Flexibility, Creativity, Familiarity and Multitasking
Name the components of a BIP.
Operational definition, Function, Onset, Offset, Antecedent Modifications, Replacement Behaviors, Consequences
What method do we relay information to parents?
SANDWICH METHOD
good information
behaviors occurrence
good information
What are the two types of learning support/ styles used when running lessons and what does it mean when running lesson in that style?
Errorless learning (EL): prompting and teaching new targets
Error Correction (EC): mastering targets and often uses no no prompt repeat where cx has two opportunities before being prompted
List Prompting hierarchy found in DTT?
Full Physical, Partial Physical, Model/Demonstration, Full Echoic, Full Directive, Textual, Gestural, Proximity, Stimulus Manipulation, Indirect Verbal
List prompting hierarchy for NET ACTIVITY
Act Confused, Leading Q's & St, Rephrasing, Choices, Experiential, Model-Observation, Roleplay, Visual-Textual, Ruled Governed Bx, Non-Vocal
DEFINE all components of the BIP.
Operational definition: What to observe and track/ what is considered inappropriate behavior for the client regarding BIP
Function: the reason why the client is engaging in this maladaptive behavior.
Antecedents: Modifications to use prior to the behavior occurring
Replacement behaviors: Behaviors to teach client instead of engaging in an inappropriate behavior
Consequences: what to implement after the client has engaged in an inappropriate behavior
onset: when to start collecting data
offset: when to end the data collection for inappropriate behavior
