Why does blood appear different colors?
When blood is oxygenated it appears bright red. When blood is unoxygenated it give off a duller red because it is full of waste products and carbon dioxide.
fun fact: our veins appear blue because it is covered by skin and fat. blue light can not penetrate as deep as red light therefor giving veins it blueish appearance.
Why is the Pulmonary vein red and the pulmonary artery blue?
Pulmonary vein is red cause it is carrying oxygenated blood to the heart. Pulmonary artery is blue cause it is carrying unoxygenated blood to the lungs.
