Right out of college, like most accounting majors, I joined and was this type of staff member who was  responsible for the examination of whether or not the financial statements are fairly presented in conformity of appropriate accounting principles.

Before working my way up to my senior manager position today, I started in this position, responsible for the quarterly testing of leases, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations of percent rent, rental income, surplus property.

Our team is divided into 2 subteams, Lease Accounting, responsible for ensuring all leases are compliant with IFRS 16 and Lease Payments/Receivables, responsible for ensuring all payments and billings are done in compliant with the leases, who leads these teams?

In August of 2010, I finally received this type of license after completing 150 hours of college-level coursework, met the experience requirement, applied and passed a four part test.

After being the touch person for the Pantry and CST PPA (purchase price allocation) , I was promoted to this position and started supervising team members in Tempe and Raleigh.

In January 2023, we paid this dollar amount in costs related to 2,102 leases in heritage Tempe, 718 leases in heritage Columbus, and 704 leases in Toronto; while we billed this dollar amount in costs related to 397 income leases in heritage Tempe and 85 income leases in heritage Columbus.

The implementation of this new standard, led to me leading the first consolidated North American team, responsible for all lease accounting activity.

In FY22, we performed this number of reassessments and modifications to payable accounting schedules for Tempe, Columbus, Toronto and Laval.  These occur whenever anything changes in the lease (rent amounts, terms, economic penalties, etc).
