What are the peasants/serfs?
A boar

Goes there to become a page.
Why does Toby go to his uncle's castle?
The qualities and traits that make one person or group different from any other and recognized as such.
What is Identity?
He trains the castle guards and doesn't want to teach Toby archery (shooting a bow & arrow).
Who is the Constable?
Their duties were to insure that the peasants and churchmen were defended so that they could live in peace and act as judges to handle disputes.
Who are the Nobles?
There are 3 types, one is fed to dogs and horses.
What is bread?
Toby goes here to warm up because the Castle is very cold.
What is the Kitchen?
A system for organizing groups, such as people, ideas, or objects, based on levels of their importance, power, or social standing.
What is a hierarchy?
He has the job of cleaning the toilet.
Who is the Gong-Farmer?
An independent skilled worker.
Tradesmen
Because the water is not clean, everyone at the castle drinks this.
What is ale?
Toby's fellow page who becomes his friend and gets into trouble with.
Who is Mark?
Related to the Middle Ages.
He teaches the pages Scripture, Latin, and English.
Who is the Chaplain?
Practiced wearing heavy armor and using weapons. Assistant to the knights.

What were Toby's aunt and uncle called by everyone at the castle?
They're itchy.
Why doesn't Toby like his new fancy clothes?
A set of rules for honorable behavior.
What is Chivalry?
He uses leeches and astrology to cure Toby when he is ill.
Who is Dr. Leach?
Must be born as a son of a noble to be this.
Who is a Knight?
The toilet in the castle that empties down chutes into the moat

What is First Person POV?
A sports contest in which two opponents on horseback fight with lances.
What is a joust?
Because he has close ties to the King, a great feast is prepared for his visit to the castle.
