Ten Commandments – Basics
This is the First Commandment.
What is “You shall have no other gods before Me”?

What is the Seventh Commandment (You shall not steal)?
The Beatitude that promises we will be “comforted.”
What is “Blessed are those who mourn”?
You choose kindness instead of revenge — you’re living this Beatitude.
What is “Blessed are the merciful”?
Holding the door for someone or saying “please” and “thank you.”
What is courtesy?
The commandment that teaches us to “keep holy” something weekly.
What is the Third Commandment (Keep holy the Sabbath)?
Gossiping about someone’s private life most directly breaks this commandment.
What is the Eighth Commandment (You shall not bear false witness)?
The Beatitude for those who hunger and thirst for this leads to satisfaction.
What is righteousness?
You forgive someone who insulted you and try to restore friendship.
What is “Blessed are the peacemakers”?
Jesus modeled perfect obedience to God especially in this event.
What is His Passion and Death?
The commandment that honors the family and teaches respect for authority.
What is the Fourth Commandment?
Talking back to parents or teachers disrespects this commandment.
What is the Fourth Commandment?
The Beatitude that teaches gentleness and humility.
What is “Blessed are the meek”?
You remain faithful to Jesus even when people mock you.
What is “Blessed are you when they persecute you for My sake”?
Following school rules even when no one is watching shows this.
What is obedience?
These two commandments both deal with desires of the heart rather than external actions.
What are the Ninth and Tenth Commandments?
Wanting someone else’s boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse breaks this commandment.
What is the Ninth Commandment?
The Beatitude that calls us to seek peace and forgiveness.
What is “Blessed are the peacemakers”?
You choose a simple, humble lifestyle and avoid bragging.
What is “Blessed are the meek”?
Obedience is ultimately about trusting this, even when we don’t understand.
What is God’s Will?
