Hand Hygiene
This time frame is how often you should document relating to IUC
Every 4 hours
Neurogenic bladder, Urology patient, gynecology surgeries, gross hematuria, history of traumatic catheter insertion, bladder or urethral injury, difficult catheter placement
This should be discussed daily at MDR and prior to patient leaving CC and moving to a floor
No dependent loops, use of green sheet clamps, bag is below the level of the bladder and less than 1/2 full, red seal intact, use only one measuring container per patient
CAUTI Bundle
These wipes should be used on the catheter every shift and prn with bowel movement
CHG Wipes
IUC order in Epic
Should always be present if patient has IUC
This secures IUC in place, so the catheter does not move in and out of the urethra
STAT lock
