What is Cybersecurity?
Protecting your computer or logins from people who don't have permission to access it
What is graffiti?
Painting or drawing on a public space, usually without permission
What is an employee?
Someone who is working somewhere
What is a diability?
A physical or mention condition that makes some task harder for a person than it is for other people, like walking or reading. Not all disabilities can be seen!
What does it mean to be an inclusive school?
Making sure everyone has what they need to learn and be safe at school
What is a scam?
When someone is being dishonest to get access to your information or money. An example would be a pop-up on a website that asks you to give them your address so they can send you money.
What is a fine?
Money if you have to pay if you break a law
What is a barista?
Someone who works at a coffee shop
What is neurodivergence?
When how a person's brain thinks, learns, and works differently than most other people's. This is not better or worse, just different!
What are accommodations at school?
Tools or strategies a student needs to do their best learning at school. Some examples might be: extra time to finish work, taking breaks, typing instead of handwriting, sentence starters, or graphic organizers
What is a phishing link?
When dangerous software is downloaded onto your phone or computer when you click it
What is adolescence?
The years between being a kid and being an adult (usually around ages 12-17)
What is public transportation?
A system of trains, buses, and ferries that people can use to get around the community
What are hazards?
Something in your school, home, or community that can cause you to get hurt. Some examples are ice on stairs or all the electric sockets being filled
What is bullying?
When someone repeatedly hurts or upsets someone on purpose
What is social media?
Websites or apps that allows users to share content, such as videos or photos
What is hygiene?
Keeping your body safe and healthy through cleaning or washing
What is a Charlie Card?
A rechargeable card that people in Boston use to use public transportation
What does it mean to be flammable?
Something that can easily catch on fire. Some examples are curtains and newspapers. Keep these away from candles, space heaters, or stove and oven.
What is cyberbullying?
When someone is bullying someone on the internet. Examples are posting photos or sharing information about a person without their permission, sending mean messages, excluding or blocking someone from a group chat, or pretending to be someone else to tease someone
What is your digital footprint?
Anything you post, comment, or like on social media. Anyone on the internet can see this!
What does it mean to donate?
To give money or items to a person or organization for free
What is a budget?
A specific amount of money you can spend on an item
What is a paramedic?
A healthcare worker who goes out to emergency situations to provide care and transport people to the hospital
What is being a bystander to bullying?
When someone sees someone being bullied, but ignores it or doesn't do anything to help. The opposite is being an UPSTANDER, who speaks up, supports, or protects a person being bullied. Some ways to be an upstander are: telling a trusted adult, telling the person who is bullying to stop, or making sure the person being bullied know that they are not alone.
