What is the most protective MOPP Level?

MOPP 4

100

What is the difference between a Persistent and Non-Persistent Agent?

Non-Persistent agents can weather away in minutes or less. Persistent agents can last days to weeks. Specifically, over 24 hours for persistent.
100

How long does it take for someone to show symptoms of exposure to a Biological Agent?

However long it takes for someone to feel sick, could be hours to days or even weeks later

100

What are the three different types of radiation?

Alpha, Gamma, & Beta

100

What is a CBRN 1 Report and what is it used for?

Observers Report, it is sent up to the next CBRN Team, to paint a better picture as to where CBRN Munitions were used on the battlefield.

200

What is the last thing you put on when Donning MOPP gear?

Gloves

200

What is an example of a persistent and non-persistent Chemical agent type?

Non- G Series Nerve agents, Blood agents, gaseous incapacitating agent and CS Gas.

Persistent- V Series Nerve agents, Blister gents, liquid incapacitating agents and some riot control agents.

200

What is an example throughout history of a Biological Warfare?

European Conquistadors giving Small Pox and Measle Patients blankets to Native Americans, decaying bodies being thrown over walls by the mongols, Japanese using anthrax, etc

200

How can you protect yourself from radiation?

Time, Distance, and Shielding

200

What is a CBRN 4 Report and what is it used for?

Recon, Monitoring & Surveying, sent by a CBRN Reconnaissance unit to the requesting CBRN Team, used to show the exact area of contamination.

300

Time to Donn MOPP 4?

8 Minutes

300

What are all the Chemical Agent Types based on physiology?

Choking, Nerve, Blood, Blister, and incapacitating agents.

300

What are all Biological Agent Types?

Pathogens-Bacteria, Rickettsial Bacteria, and Viruses

Toxins

Not as common:

Fungi

Protozoans

Prions

300

Why are Alpha particles so dangerous?

They can be breathed in as dust, ingested, or sticking onto skin.

300

Who in your Company can send a CBRN 1 report?

ANYONE.

400

What is the difference between MOPP Ready and MOPP 0?

MOPP Ready you need to have everything near you, stored. MOPP 0 ProMask at hip, rest of gear near you.

400

Why does a Commander need to know if a Chemical agent is persistent or non-persistent?

It allows them to better understand the reason behind the attack, potential enemy COAs, and more importantly it allows them the ability to assume risk on decon, based on your SME advisements.

400

How can you detect a Biological Agent?

With a JPS or JBPDS BIDS (only Presumptive Detection).

400

How can you decontaminate yourself from Radiological contamination?

Brush off area, remove out garments, wash with water and soap.

400

Why is CBRN Reporting Important?

It gives the higher CBRN echelons and commanders a better understanding of what munitions were employed on the battlefield and how they were used.

500

Can you don MOPP 4 (or Pro Mask in under 9 secs) in under 8 minutes? (Only one team can go).

Yes.

500

How can you detect a chemical agent was used when entering an unknown area?

Dead plants or animals in an area, Reconnaissance unit detects agent, M8/M9 Paper, M256 Kits, Troopers feeling effects (depending on agent).

500

What is the lowest level of detection needed for Treatment?

Theater Validation Identification.

500

What is the difference between a Dirty bomb and a Nuclear Bomb?

Size, spread of radiological contamination, and most importantly, a nuclear weapon uses nuclear reactions to cause an explosion, whereas a dirty bomb is a conventional explosive fitted to disperse radiological contamination.

500

Who do you need to send a CBRN report to?

The next higher CBRN Team. CO-> BN CBRN OIC/NCOIC-> BDE CBRN OIC/NCOIC, etc.
