Having said that, Justin Wong won Evolution's predecessor in 2001, Battle by the Bay, in MvC2 which should be taken into account if we were to discredit his 2009 3rd Strike win.

What is a "plink" and how do you perform it?
Plink stands for "priority link" and originated in SF4. You perform it by pressing 2 buttons in quick succession (1 frame apart specifically), the first of which must be of a higher tier than the second (H>M>L). Due to the way late 2000s Capcom fighters are programmed, you cannot buffer inputs but you can double them by plinking, which will lead the game to think that you pressed the first button of the plink twice in 2 consecutive frames instead of a different one. This was originally meant to ease 1 frame links into 2 frame links, but it can also be used in MvC3 to get faster wavedashes by kara-canceling dash normals into another dash (commonly known as plinkdashing)
