Atticus makes risky decisions like asking question that he does not know the answers to, this shows just how confident he is in his story. Scout is very nervous because of this as she is scared that Atticus will get stuck on a question like this.

Jem is upset by the result and begins understanding how deep racial biases are.
Scout is disappointed by the result but still respects Atticus more. She does not understand the biases fully.

Atticus's questions about Bob hitting Mayella cause her to lash out.

Why did Mayella get so agitated and looked nervous at some of the questions?
Mayella's answers were false and whenever Atticus asked a question where she had to lie she would get nervous and look toward Bob Ewell. Later on in her testimony she was being cornered by Atticus when she panicked and lashed out at the Jury and Courthouse.
What does the public's reaction to the start tell us about what this case means to them.
Their disappointment towards the dull start shows how little they care about a black man's life and how this is mostly a fun activity for them.
What does Scout and Jem's unwillingness to leave along with their reactions after the case show about them.
Scout: It shows us how she is maturing and wishes to see and support her father in this case.
Jem: It shows us how he is still and unaware of how strong the biases against the blacks and hopeful for Atticus to win.
