Living conditions are very poor in the Dharavi slum due to numerous reasons. Dharavi is incredibly over crowded, with one of the highest population densities in the world. the slum has abysmal sanitation, poor infrastructure due to the lack of regulations and available building materials, poor health due to lack of access to care and environmental issues due to the incredible amounts of pollution produced within the slum, primarily water pollution, which has numerous effects on health.
