Yes, I thought it was helpful because I was able to practice my reading skills and the teacher was able to provide individualized instruction about where I needed improvement.

Yes, in elementary school we would meet once a week at the back table with the teacher and talk about the book we were reading. I was really nervous and anxious talking with my teacher one on one, but the repetition of this routine helped both my comprehension skills and my social anxiety.

Through fiction and non-fiction texts and anthologies, students at all levels of reading can read the same topics as their classmates at their own pace and move onto higher levels of books on the same topic when they are ready.
