How does a bill become a law? Explain the steps.
1. A member of the General Assembly or Senate writes a bill and approves it.
2. The bill gets passed on to the governor where he or she signs it and it becomes a law. If the governor takes no action within 45 days, it also becomes a law.
3. If the governor vetoes the bill, it goes backward and the General Assembly and Senate must vote again. If it gets 2/3 of the votes, the bill becomes a law
