Giving worship to a creature or thing instead of to God. Idolatry is forbidden by the First Commandment.

He did not want people worshipping in Judah, he created altars with a golden bull so people started worshipping the bulls.

Their words and actions show that God is loving and faithful to him.

Under his rule Israel regained lost land and established peace with the southern kingdom of Judah.
What did Amos tell the Israelites?
That they were heartless, greedy,and dishonest, he told them they were turning there backs on God, and what they were doing was injustice.

Made the people pay heavy taxes, forced them to work on many projects for long hours, and turned himself away from God.

Some Israelites were wealthy but most were poor which led to inequality and greediness.

Because the Israelites were did not listen to Amos. God called Hosea to be a prophet. Hosea married Gomer who was unfaithful to him. Just like the Isrealites were unfaithful to God.
