What can cause sunburns, skin cancer, and eye damage?
What is ultraviolet radiation

What are the boiling and freezing points on the Celsius scale?
Raindrops fall through cold air near the ground, but don't freeze in the air. They freeze when they touch a cold surface.

How does snow form?
Water vapor in a cloud is converted directly into ice crystals.

Name and define the three main types of heat transfer.
Radiation-the direct transfer of heat by electromagnetic waves
Conduction-the direct transfer of heat from one substance to another when they are touching
Convection-the direct transfer of heat by the movement of a fluid

When does the land heat faster than the water?
What is during the day

How does sleet form?
When rain falls through a layer of air below 0 degrees Celsius, (the freezing point of water) the raindrops freeze into solid particles of ice that are smaller than 5 millimeters in diameter.

How does hail form?
Hail starts off as an ice pellet in a cold region of a cumulonimbus cloud during a thunderstorm. Strong updrafts in the cloud carry the hailstone up and down through the cold region many times. Every time the hailstone goes through the cold region, a new layer of ice forms around the hailstone. Eventually the hailstone becomes heavy enough to fall to the ground.
