England's colonies were growing in terms of population, the more people one has, the more land one requires. Colonies pushed westward and ran into New France. Colonials fought for control resulting in the French and Indian War; evolved into a conflict in Europe called the Seven Years' War. All were battling for colonial supremacy. The French lost, most of their land was surrendered to the English.
