The Act forced Native Americans to move from their lands in the north and be placed in western states. Andrew Jackson was the president that could use it.

Little Turtle and other Native Am groups fought Anthony Wayne. Wayne waited 3 days, Indians fasted and were weak. Lasted less than 2 hours.
Why were canals so important to Indiana at first? What changed the importance of canals?
Canals connected lakes to rivers. Farmers thought canals would help them sell crops. Railroads were faster, cheaper and easier to build than canals.
What was the Trail of Death? What happened as a result?
The Trail of Death was when the US military forced 800 Native Americans to move west on reservations. More than 40 died, mostly women and children. It became known as the Trail of Death.

France, African Americans and women helped in the war. The Battle of Yorktown ended the war.

The IN Territory was a smaller amount of land than the Northwest Territory, Will Henry Harrison - Gov. Located in Vincennes.

Supply is the amount that farmers (people) have to sell. Demand is the amount of crops or goods people want to buy.

IN built more railroads, canals and roads to connect cities together. Had to borrow $10 million. IN could not pay its debt. Work stopped on all transportation. IN could no longer borrow money.
