What is the main idea of this passage: The lower class in colonial society was made up of indentured servants, fishermen, farmers, apprentices, and other groups that did not own property or businesses. Children in the lower class often performed many chores. They helped on the farm or in the family trade. When children were old enough, they would begin to work to help support their families. Some became apprentices to learn a trade. Others worked as domestic servants. Enslaved Africans were not part of any of the three classes in colonial society.

The lower class in colonial society was made up of different kinds of workers, but enslaved Africans were not part of any class.
