The discipline that reveals what controls us. One might practice this discipline to get closer to God by being reminded that He is the only one that sustains us.

Contrary to the act of other behaviors and religions, this discipline empties one’s self AND refills ourself with Christ in return

Every other discipline helps turn our eyes to Jesus, but this discipline KEEPS our eyes on Jesus. A way to remind us to trust God by what He has already done and who He already is

By doing this specific discipline, we are loving the Lord our God with all of our mind, heart, and soul

A person who is under this discipline is a person who can say what needs to be said WHEN it needs to be said
What is solitude?
Instead of caring what other people think, people can practice this discipline to notice what they actually need and glorifies God
What is simplicity?
A determination to avoid sin- this discipline grounds our reality to be humbled in our thinking that we are in fact all sinners who are changed by the blood of Jesus

The act of constantly saying, “I won’t plan anything. I will just wait for the Holy Spirit to do something instead of actually doing work” every week for small group
What is over-spiritualization of spontaneity?
If we are all created in the image of Christ, can we all not catch a glimpse of Jesus in everyone?

The discipline that gives the freedom of the ability to lay down the terrible burden of always needing to get our own way

The discipline that encourages us to actually believe that the ground is leveled at the foot of the Cross, NOT I am the leader and you are not
