How do people change the land?
People need places to live and work. They need lumber from trees and minerals from the ground. They need roads and bridges over rivers. Sometimes, if people are not careful, they can harm the air and land. Their factories and cars can pollute the water and the air. Logging companies can cut too many trees.
Why were animals important to the Archaic People?
Archaic People used the whole animal for survival. The flesh was used as food. Hides were made into clothing, moccasins, blankets, and bags. Bones and antlers were used for tools. Claws and teeth were sometimes made into necklaces.
