An Irregular galaxy is not normal and comes in different shapes and sizes. An irregular galaxy can not be classified. You may see one as a big blur in the sky and it could be an Irregular Galaxy orbiting the Milky Way Galaxy.

An Elliptical Galaxy can be circular or egg-shaped. It can be very large and very bright but most of the time it is mall and dim. These are the oldest of the 3 types of Galaxy's. The Elliptical Galaxy has no new stars and all the light comes from the old stars in these types of Galaxy's. This is the most common of the 3 types of Galaxy's.
