What is a zoo membership ? 

 A zoo membership allows the named adult(s) and those covered under the membership (which varies based on the membership type) to visit the zoo without an extra ticket fee.

1 day old -17 years old

One year, and to the end of the month, of its date of purchase

What is required for a member to check in to the Zoo?

All named adults need to present their valid photo ID and everyone needs to have a ticket! (Exception: Conservator, Patron and Patron Gold members do not need to have ticket reservations for those covered under their membership) Their reservations for the day and all the registered adults photo IDs

Can a guest use their non-member tickets AND a verified discount code towards the cost of their membership purchase?

  • Yes! The only discounts that can be applied to a membership are the military discount ($25) and select members will receive a renewal discount code ($5-$10). If their code isn't working, or they can't remember their discount code, call Membership! We can provide you with the discount codes.

What are the office hours for the Membership department? 

 Friday, 9 a.m - 5 p.m. Ashley is in the office most Saturdays for assistance! She will give advance notice to GE Leadership if she will be OOO.

If a member has a membership that includes "plus" guest(s) - who is permitted to bring the "plus" guest(s)?

The primary named adult(s) on the membership. The named person on the membership.

A guest cannot come by themselves "Plus" guests cannot visit by themselves or with a Third Adult.

What does it mean to use someone's non-member tickets to "upgrade to a membership?"

Non-member guests can use as many tickets as would have been covered if their membership were already active towards the cost of their membership purchase within 14 days of their Zoo visit!

 If a guest would like to speak with a Membership team member, what should you do?

 If it is within Membership business hours, please radio Membership (Admin, Channel #3) - we will either ask for the guest to be escorted to our window or walk down to the front gate to speak with them. If Membership is not in the office, please have them email membership@cmzoo.org and we will connect with them when we are back in the office.

What steps do you take if a member checks in with their ticket reservations, but WITHOUT their photo ID? What should you do if a member wants to check in and does not have a photo ID.

If they can provide a digital copy of their ID (ex. MyColorado app) or they left it in the car (please have them go get it) - we can allow them entry. If they do not have their ID on their person, they will either need to purchase a non-member ticket or retrieve their ID and come back to the Zoo.

Can non-member guests bring children to the Zoo that are listed on someone else's membership? Can someone bring member children to the zoo under someone else's membership?

Yes! If the named adult(s) on the membership have given someone else permission to bring the children listed on their membership to the Zoo, the non-member guests would need to have purchased their own tickets for the same date and time as the member child ticket(s). The named adult on the membership must also provide a photocopy of their photo ID or contact the Membership department prior to their child(ren)'s visit. No, they need to either be a listed adult on the membership.

What is the Sky Ride Member Day Pass? What is the membership sky ride day time pass?

 This is a $35 add-on that allows the named adult(s), any applicable "plus" guests and all listed children/grandchildren to ride the Sky Ride when it's open. It can be added to their membership at any time, and expires the same day as their membership, regardless of when it is added. This pass is only applicable during DAYTIME Zoo hours - members cannot use this pass to ride the Sky Ride during night events like Boo at the Zoo or Electric Safari. A $35 pass that allows all the member and their allowed guests to ride the sky ride during any daytime visit that the sky ride is open.

What is the best way for staff to get a hold of the Membership team? How do you get a hold of the membership department?

RADIO! We can be reached on Admin Channel #3 - typically we are constantly on the phone, so our lines will be busy if you try to call. Radio us on the Admin channel.

We are probably on the phone so we will not be able to see if you attempt to call us.

 If a member would like to visit the Zoo, but does not have tickets, what should you do? What do you do if a member does not have reservations for the day?

Check if there are member tickets available! (If you do not know how to do this, ask a GE LEAD or Manager). If there are no tickets available, and their membership level requires that they have tickets reserved, they will need to wait until the next available date and time to visit. You can help them reserve tickets for a later date in an Advanced Sale or they can contact Membership and we can assist them in that process. NOTE: all members that are required to reserve advance tickets are advised to plan at least 5-7 days ahead.

What is a Third Adult?

The Third Adult add-on can be added to any membership level for $70 and adds a third named adult to the membership. The named Third Adult can visit on their own, with the entire membership party, or bring the children listed on the membership. If the membership level includes "plus" guests, the Third Adult cannot bring the "plus" guest without a primary, named adult present. This add-on is noted with a "(THIRD ADULT)" next to their name, so you can easily tell what members are the primary members on the membership. A $70  fee that add's a third adult onto a membership. That third adult acts as a "nanny pass" allowing the third adult to bring themselves and the children to the zoo.

Note they cannot bring guest's to the zoo under the membership.

If a guest wants to purchase a membership as a gift for someone else, what is the process to complete the gift membership?

 A gift membership must be processed through the Membership team! If we are in the office, please radio us (Admin, Channel #3) - otherwise, please take their information down on a white Membership slip to turn into the Membership team. You can also provide the guest with our email (membership@cmzoo.org), if they would like to reach out to us directly. They contact membership!

If we are in office radio us if its a Sunday write a white slip to be taken up to the membership office.

Can members upgrade their level of membership?

Yes! If their membership is active, this process must be completed with a Membership team member. If their membership has lapsed, and they wish to renew at a different level, that is perfectly acceptable for you to process in Admissions. NOTE: an active membership CANNOT be downgraded.
