What is child abuse?
Any non accidental injury, sexual battery, or injury intellectually of a child by a parent
What is Physical Abuse?
The mistreatment of a child by a person responsible for the child's welfare that results in injury or harm
What is sexual abuse?
Sexual contact or interaction between a child and an adult
What is verbal abuse?
A form of emotional abuse that involves excessive yelling an belittling a child
What is Neglect?
Failure to provide adequate food, shelter, clothing, health care or needed supervision.
What is emotional neglect?
Failure to provide support, acceptance, attention, warmth and normal living experiences to the extent that the child is impaired in the ability to function normally in performance and behavior.
What is failure to thrive?
The lack of support and emotional care or love can cause the infant/child's weight to fall below the 5th percentile for age.
What is Immunity?
Exemption from civil or criminal charges resulting from reporting in good faith.
