What is the first step if an infant is choking 

1. Position the infantLay the infant face down along your forearm, with their head lower than their body. Use your thigh for support. 

2. Give back blowsUsing the heel of your hand, give up to five firm blows between the infant's shoulder blades. 

3. Give chest thrustsTurn the infant face up, with their head lower than their body. Place two fingers in the middle of their chest, just below their nipples. Give up to five quick, sharp thrusts that are about 1.5 inches deep.
