This place, also known as Spring Hill, Missouri, will be the place where Father Adam appears to gather his children to prepare them for the coming of the Son. In 1838 members of the church began to move there, built about 200 homes, and even laid out a city grid and identified a location for a temple. Later that fall violence forced them to abandon the town. See D&C 116.

What was the Kirtland Temple dedication?
These two towns laid at the edge of the United States in their early days and were considered gathering points for many of the saints. City grids were laid out and temple sites dedicated. Cornerstones were laid for the temples but persecution prevented members from ever building them. Just wait till the current prophet announces these in general conference.
