When do I enforce the late work deductions?
Only if no ADVANCED request has been made or DRC extra time is in place
Under what circumstances should I be accepting extension requests?
Any student who asks IN ADVANCE may have a 1-2 day extension - no questions asked.

Disability Resource Center - now called SAILS - they provide accommodations for students at ASU.

What if a student asks for an extension AFTER the due date, but in the next Module?
Allow it for all DRC extra time students and all others in the case of medical, personal, or natural disaster emergencies (no “proof” is necessary)
How will I know if I have a DRC/SAILS student?
Amanda will send you a DM if one of your students has accommodations that you may need to allow - this DM may not come before the first day (depending on how quickly SAILS gets the information to us)
How do we determine what Teams students should go into?
By examining the Doodle Poll you send out on Day 1
What should I do if I get behind on grading? Should I just tell my students I'm vacationing/ill/busy and am getting to it?
Alert your Lead AND Amanda for help in grading; please NEVER tell students you are too busy (for whatever reason) to grade their work! (This is an ASU ABA Online Program policy)
How long can I accept late work?
Not beyond the next Module (unless special circumstances or DRC)
What if the student asks for an extension after the next Module?
Unless there was a medical emergency or natural disaster, we do not allow it.
I received an email from DRC/SAILS and its not for my student. What should I do?
Forward it to Amanda asap.
What if I have a student who doesn't fit with any of my Teams' available times?
Look through the Google Sheet for your Section ONLY and add your student to an available spot.
What assignments are we accepting for content-specific revisions for full credit?
ALL assignments are formative, which means that we are using assignments not to test their knowledge, but to shape their knowledge. Its not a "gotcha" situation. If they make an error in understanding, we provide detailed feedback and allow resubmission for credit so that we can check for understanding.
When should I contact a student who is missing work?
On the due date, vie email AND slack DM.
What if a student never asked for an extension, but turned in work late anyway?
Assign late point deductions per policy (see Category 1 in this Jeopardy game).
I got an email from DRC/SAILS and Amanda is not cc'd on it. What should I do?
Forward it to Amanda asap.
What if one of my students misses a Team meeting? Can they complete the assignment on their own?
NO! They MUST participate in the Team Discussion meeting - help them find a make up by searching first the Google Sheet for your Section and identifying days and times that a team might be meeting, then by asking your Lead to check on those Teams in Slack to see if they are really meeting. If so, your Lead will connect you with the Student Leader of that Team and get your student all set up.
How long are we accepting revisions for credit?
Up to 72 hours past the date you completed grading. If it is Module 7, 24 hours.
How long will I have to accept late work beyond the due date?
Only through the next Module; after that, we do not accept it except in special circumstances (discuss with Lead)
What if a student asks for an extension every single Module?
Give them the 1-2 day extension every module.
My student is telling me they need DRC/SAILS accommodations/already have accommodations, but I have not received any notice. What should I do?
Sometimes the student has not actually consulted DRC/SAILS yet, so first ask if they have done so. If they have, then contact Amanda asap to look into it.
If my student misses a Team meeting and is going to meet with someone else, OR they tell me in advance they are joining another Team, what will I do?
You will follow the steps that Amanda will post in the #Discussion_Teams Slack Channel during M2 for how to move your student to a different Team (or no Team) in Canvas. You will not make such attempt until you have read those instructions and watched that video.
What if the point deductions were related to APA style or other issue, unrelated to content?
Allow revision for Modules 1 and 2 only.
