What are the three criteria's to determine the start of isolation date?
1. When the Case first presents with symptoms and then has a positive test

What to INCLUDE in your DAILY COUNT form at the end of the day?
There are three answers in the correct order as in the form, please answer the subsections for each answer as well
1- List two scenarios CI's would include in this count
2-What to not include in this
3-The two types of calls CI would include in this count. (Hint-the date your calling)
Daily Count- How many interviews (including congregate care facilities) did you successfully complete today?
All completed initial interviews
Completed interviews with Cases or proxy
Completed interviews even if Case refused to give you Contacts
Congregate Settings files (check protocol to complete those files correctly!)
OOJ or Hospitalizations, as long as you did the interview
Files past isolation that you call and do a brief interview to make sure they have no symptoms and release from isolation (please make notes in the file and close file).
Unreachable- How many files were unreachable today?
Include all initial interview files that you closed as "unreachable" after completing 3-3-2 protocol
Do not include unreachable end of isolation or unreachable follow-up calls
Follow-up- Number of follow-up calls completed
This includes:
All daily follow-up calls that you successfully reach the case/guardian/proxy
All 10th day end of isolation release calls that you successfully reach the case/guardian/proxy
What would a CI do when no one answers on Day 10 of isolation follow up call?
(This includes the update made on 04/01/2021)
Please use amended 3-3-2 protocol (the 3 calls can be all in 1 day, or spread out between 2, depending on your schedule). For example, if a person is on day 10, call them (3 rapid call-set) 3 times throughout the day, or 3 times throughout a 2-day span.
Additionally (NEW- 4/1/21)
AFTER 332, PLEASE KEEP THE FILE OPEN FOR ONE OR TWO MORE DAYS TO SEE IF YOU CAN REACH THEM. Just call once on those days. For example:
Day 10- Day 11: Full round of 3-3-2 (3 call attempts, 3 rapid calls each attempt, over the course of Day 10 and Day 11)
Day 12- Day 15 (If Case does not answer initial 3-3-2): Call 1 attempt (3 rapid calls) a day until Day 15.
What was the new CDC guidelines that NYS adopted and will be in effect starting Wednesday. Full points if you can state 2 places excluded from this new guidelines.
Update that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting.
Unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask.
For NYS- Masks will be required in public transit, schools and communal settings. Private venues may require masks.
What are the general criteria to look for when releasing case from isolation.
When to release from isolation:
The Case has been fever-free without the use of fever reducing medications for at least 72 hours
And, there has been a general improvement in other symptoms
And, there are no major respiratory symptoms (such as difficulty breathing, severe cough/congestion, chest pains)
If the Case meets these requirements you can close the file.
When the Case first presents with symptoms and then has a positive test there are three different scenarios.
State the 3 scenarios-
A) The symptoms started less than or equal to 3 days before the test--> the symptom onset date will be the start of isolation.
B)The symptoms started more than 3 days before the test --> the specimen collection date
C)The symptoms started more than 3 days before the test AND they were a PUI and their symptom onset date is recorded in the PUI file--> the symptom onset date will be the start of isolation.
