Apologize and kindly inform the call due to HIPAA laws,  we cannot share, confirm or deny any protected health information.

A patient comes in for a foot injury, but your site does not have an x-ray  tech on site. What are your next steps?

You would politely inform the patient, "We do not currently have an x-ray tech on site, however we would still be happy to see you. Our provider can evaluate you, and if an x-ray is medically necessary, we can coordinate with one of our nearby facilities to provide x-ray services for you.”

Explain politely that this would be a separate visit and billed to personal insurance. Follow the Occ med registering protocol, (obtain the RFMS, Case Policy, Employer name, Occ Med Hippa, Link Scanned Docs to Encounter Doc) 

Add patient commercial insurance as primary, create a separate appointment under office visit. Collect copay if required. Inform scribe.

A nanny brings in a child to be seen for a tick bite. What are your next steps?

The Parental Consent form is required to be completed in full and attached to the chart prior to be seen. The parent/legal guardian must complete the form and return it to us with the photo ID. Verbal consent is not enough. After form and documentation is obtained, patient can be seen as normal.
