This section is responsible for collecting and managing all relevant operational and intelligence data for the incident and disseminating information to provide situational awareness for the incident. They collect situational and resource status information, evaluate it, and process the information to develop incident action plans, prepare alternative strategies, predict probable incident events and control operations.

This section develops and implements tactics to achieve strategic objectives for the operational period in accordance with the Incident Action Plan (IAP).
